Asiative는 아시아인들이 우리의 문제를 우리의 시각으로 보고 느끼고 교호하는 장을 만들자는 취지에서 창간되었다.

Asiative 창간호는 먼저 한국 서울에서 개최되는 핵안보정상회의를 특집(special features)으로 다루고 있다. 오바마 대통령의 이니셔티브로 개최된 핵안보 정상회의가 비핵운동의 중요한 발걸음이기는 하지만, 그것은 핵물질안보에 머무르고 있다는 점에서 한계가 분명하다. 우리가 원하는 것이 핵안보인가 아니면 핵없는 세상인가 라는 질문은 서울 핵안보 정상회의를 대하는 Asiative의 근본적인 질문인 것이다.

Asiative의 기사는 그 발간 주체가 KNSI라는 이유 때문에 아직은 한반도 문제에 많은 지면을 할애하고 있다. Inside Peninsula 란에는 남북한 문제에 대해 아시아인들에게 던지고 싶은 많은 문제들을 담아 제시할 것이다. 이번 호에는 2012년 북한의 정치 및 경제 체제 전망에 대한 논의를 담았다.
그 외 Asiative는 In depth Analysis나 Issues and Debates의 지면을 통해 미중일러 그리고 중동 문제에 대한 분석과 설명 그리고 전망을 제시하고 있다.
